Purpose

RMGA was formed in 1993 as a non-profit corporation, to promote the highest degree of competence and professionalism for tour guides, tour directors/managers, docents, instructors and driver guides.

The purpose of the Association is to provide ethical and professional standards against which all tour guides, tour directors/managers, docents, instructors and driver guides are measured. It is also the purpose of the Association to promote the common interest of its members by:

• Holding meetings and familiarization (FAM) trips for education of members;
• Providing opportunities for the exchanging of experiences and opinions regarding the industry;
• Providing a forum for development and promotion of common professional interests and concerns;
• Cooperating with other related and non-related organizations in a common endeavor to promote the professional and the public's awareness.
