FOUR SEASONS HOTEL DENVER

A soaring landmark in the heart of downtown, Four Seasons Hotel Denver stands at the intersection of 14th and Arapahoe Streets, bordering fashionable Lower Downtown (LoDo).  Top-rated restaurants, lively bars and diverse shops are steps away at Larimer Square, Writer’s Square, and the 16th Street Mall.

Ideal for business, the location is within the 14th Street Central Business District and just three blocks from the Denver Convention Center.  Equally appealing for leisure, it’s also the centre of the Theatre District--diagonally across the street from the Denver Performing Arts Complex.  And, it’s only minutes from three professional sports arenas offering baseball, basketball, football, hockey and soccer, plus world-class concerts. All ages can enjoy major museums, the aquarium, botanic gardens and the renowned Denver Zoo.

The story of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, which opened its first hotel in 1961, is a tale of continual innovation, remarkable expansion and a single-minded dedication to the highest of standards.  The Canadian-based company has, for nearly 50 years, transformed the hospitality industry by combining friendliness and efficiency with the finest traditions of international hotel-keeping.  In the process, Four Seasons has redefined luxury for the modern traveler.

If you’re looking for a great place to grab a drink before or after the meeting, visit the EDGE Bar & Restaurant.  It is a wonderful atmosphere for happy hour; we’re told the signature drinks are delicious!  EDGE is a progressive, American steakhouse featuring a varied menu for all-day dining.  Interiors include a large wine display, as well as a private dining room, and a chef’s table in the kitchen.  In warmer weather, enjoy al fresco dining on the patio along Arapahoe Street.  Or, escape above the City to resort-style setting of rooftop Pool Terrace where a menu of light fare and refreshing cocktails await.  (Source:  www.fourseasons.com & www.fourseasons.com/Denver).

Guide Line Review

Four Seasons Hotel

". . . SUCH LOVELY ACCOMMODATIONS and WONDERFUL HOSPITALITY . . .!"

The Four Seasons Hotel meeting was turned over to host Peter Falke, Corporate Sales Manager, Four Seasons Hotel, who in turn introduced Erin McGinn, hostess/Group Sales Manager, for downtown Denver's Four Seasons Hotel & Vail's Four Seasons Resort/ Hotel which are properties of a Canadian-based company.

Ground was broken for the hotel in 2007 and Denver's Four Seasons Hotel opened in October, 2010.  The building is 45 stories, housing 239 "ultra-spacious" guest rooms from the fourth to the sixteenth floors and 21 suites/ private residences.  It is the 4th tallest building in Denver (including the spire).  Peter reported sales of the 102 residences (floors 18 - 45) have been great for these past five months, with 25% having been sold so far at beginning prices of around one-million dollars.  Approximately 1,500 people showed up to apply for work available at the hotel.  In these interviews, most people are hired not only for their capability but for their personality.  Sales & Marketing is different from other hotel businesses and is one of the keys to their success.  A Four Seasons Hotel will open soon on Moscow Square, Moscow, Russia.

Four Seasons' opening event actually was a fund-raiser, collecting $25,000 for local charities.  Peter Falke went on to say Four Seasons has 87 hotels around the world; numbers 86 and 87 are the Denver property and one at Vail, Colorado.  Projections call for 150 hotels/resorts in the next 8 - 10 years, around the world.  Among their services, they seek room-readiness on guest arrival, timely room service, fitness center, business center, ballroom, and Braille room numbers for special guests.

A uniquely-styled property is sought for each location with an interpretation of the specific area.  Denver's represents the exceptional beauty of Colorado with tall windows for viewing, stone fireplaces, and appropriate stone-trimmed accessories.  Bathrooms are spacious compared to that given in many other hotels.  The Vail property, located at the main entrance to Vail Village, is steps from the ski-concierge and slopes, and  offers overnight heating of gloves and boots.

We were shown a short video about the Four Seasons' Hotels & Resorts, focusing on many beautiful scenes from their hotels around the world, plus glowing comments from many of the hotels' employees and how they love working for the Four Seasons chain.  This was overseen by Alex Hahn, Audio-Visual Director.

The Edge Restaurant is a progressive American steak-house featuring regional/seasonal produce and foods.  The bar is considered one of the least "stuffiest" places in Denver to come and relax over a drink.  An elegant spa on the 3rd floor is stocked only with Colorado products.  Also located on the third floor is the beautiful rooftop Pool Terrace; it will be open to the public on Friday and Saturday nights.  The Hotel is only minutes from theaters, sports venues, restaurants, shopping, and both summer and winter recreation availability!

We then separated into two groups which were given tours and introductions to the several room-types offered at this fine hotel.  Everyone would be quite fortunate to stay at this newest and grandest of downtown Denver hotels.  The main contact number for Peter Falke and Erin McGinn:  303-389-3000, website:  www.fourseasons.com.
